Kitchen Remodeling in the East Bay, California
Taragano Design and Build is a licensed design-build contractor, CSLB #1143420, remodeling kitchens across the East Bay and Contra Costa County, from cosmetic updates to full gut renovations with new layouts, custom cabinetry, and stone counters. Design, permitting, and construction run through one team and one contract, so nothing gets handed off or lost along the way. Taragano has completed more than 100 projects across the East Bay since 2014, backed by Diamond Certified and BBB accreditation and a one-year workmanship warranty on every job.
The kitchen is where a family actually lives, so it’s the room worth getting right the first time.

Full Kitchen Remodels
We take the room back to the studs and build it new: layout, cabinets, counters, lighting, and electrical, all planned together instead of patched in one at a time.
Open-Concept Kitchens
Opening a kitchen to the living room usually means removing a load-bearing wall. We identify that during design, not after demolition, so the structural fix is part of the plan, not a surprise change order.
Custom Cabinets and Islands
Cabinets are built to your actual space, not a stock size. A properly sized island adds seating, storage, and a second prep zone without crowding the walkway around it.
Counters and Finishes
Quartz resists staining and needs no sealing. Granite and marble need periodic sealing but offer more natural variation. We help you weigh that trade-off against how the kitchen actually gets used.
What Determines a Kitchen Remodel’s Cost
No two kitchens cost the same, because the scope of change matters more than the size of the room.
A cosmetic refresh, new cabinet fronts, counters, and finishes in the existing footprint, costs far less than a full gut remodel that moves walls, plumbing, or electrical. Moving a sink or a range means rerouting supply lines, drain lines, and often gas or 220V wiring, work that happens inside walls and floors before any new cabinet goes in.
Cabinet and counter tier make a real difference too. Stock cabinets cost less than fully custom ones built to your exact space, and quartz, granite, and marble each carry their own material and fabrication cost.
This is why we walk your kitchen and talk through what you actually want changed before any number gets discussed.
How It Works
The First Call or Email
Tell us what you’re picturing, a cosmetic refresh, an open-concept remodel, or a full gut renovation. We ask about the space and your timeline, then schedule a free site visit if it’s a fit.
The Site Visit
We visit your home, review the existing layout, plumbing, and electrical, and talk through what you actually want changed before anything is designed.
Design
We plan the layout, cabinets, and finishes and finalize the full scope. If the project opens the kitchen to another room or moves plumbing, the structural and rerouting work gets identified here, not after demolition starts.
Order and Schedule
We order cabinets, counters, and fixtures with lead times in mind, and schedule construction so nothing sits waiting once demo starts.
Build
We build your kitchen, protect the rest of your home from dust and debris, and clean the site every day, closing with a final walkthrough and a one-year workmanship warranty.

Common Questions about Kitchen Remodeling
How long does a kitchen remodel take?
Most kitchens take six to ten weeks of construction once materials arrive. Design and ordering come first.
Can I use my kitchen during the work?
Not the kitchen itself. Instead, many clients set up a small temporary kitchen nearby. We move as fast as quality allows.
Do you move walls and plumbing?
Yes. Because we are full service general contractors. We handle framing, plumbing, electrical, and permits.
Do you help pick materials?
Yes. We guide every choice, from cabinets to cabinet knobs. So you get help, not homework.
Do you pull permits?
Yes, when the work needs them. So we handle the city for you.
